Global ecommerce and healthtech heavyweights to join Cowboy board

Board Update Back to News Top

Cowboy, the world's most connected ebike brand, has announced Harpreet Singh Rai, former CEO of the prominent health tech wearables company Oura, will now serve as a board member and Kevin Cornils, former Chief Commercial Officer at Peloton, joins Cowboy as Strategic Advisor.

Harpreet Singh Rai brings with him a remarkable track record of success. During his four and a half years at Oura, Rai achieved significant milestones, including an astounding 100x growth in revenue, securing $140 million in funding, and successfully launching new hardware and a subscription model. His strategic vision and leadership have made a lasting impact on the health technology sector, and Cowboy is eager to leverage Rai's expertise as it continues to push the boundaries of innovation in the ebike industry.

Kevin Cornils, the newly appointed CEO of Beauty Pie, the world's largest luxury beauty buyer's club, and former Chief Commercial Officer at Peloton, the equipment, software and content platform that makes fitness accessible, brings a wealth of experience in sales, marketing, and international growth strategy to Cowboy. Cornils played a pivotal role in Peloton's global success and journey to achieving revenues in excess of $3bn. His exceptional leadership has been instrumental in driving growth and brand recognition, making him an invaluable addition to Cowboy's leadership team.

"We warmly welcome Harpreet and Kevin to our Board of Directors.

As the first fully independent additions to our board, their unparalleled expertise and successful track records in scaling innovative technology-led companies support our mission to reshape urban mobility with our connected ebikes.

This announcement comes after a challenging year for the ebike sector, making their strategic input even more significant. We look forward to benefiting from their insights and contributions as Cowboy gets ready for an even bigger 2024.”

Adrien Roose, Co-founder and CEO of Cowboy.

The addition of Rai and Cornils to Cowboy signifies a strategic move to further strengthen the company's governance and capitalize on the deep industry knowledge and business acumen of these two accomplished executives.

This latest announcement comes after a packed pipeline of news at the company, which achieved profitability in July after unveiling its award-winning Cruiser model the same month. This year Cowboy also launched its Retail Partner Network, making it easier for customers to shop and service their bikes with local, independent bike shops. Recent software launches include key updates to its anti-theft 'Find My Bike' software; an industry first in-app navigation experience built with Google Maps Platform, and the introduction of AdaptivePower; software which senses changes in the rider's environmental conditions and provides the right amount of power. In October, Cowboy announced a partnership with Klarna, the innovative "Pay now" / "Pay later" service and the opening of its new Brand Store in Brussels, its home city.

Winner of the Wallpaper* Smart Space Awards 2023, for Most Revolutionary Personal Transport for the Cowboy Cruiser, and one of Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2022, Cowboy is the only e-bike maker to have achieved B-Corp certification, a rigorous assessment that certifies companies meet high standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. The company has sold over 60,000 bikes and sees its global community completing more than 1.5m rides per month.
